Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I have pledged to raise £2250 to support the brilliant charity ‘’. I've already managed to raise well over half of this, so a huge thank you to those of you who have already supported me!
Moving Mountains works in both and . Their work includes building and running orphanages, schools and clinics, as well as supporting street children and their families with education and strategies for long term development. Projects have also included building a hydro-electric power station in the , enabling local people to become self-sufficient through their businesses.
In August 2010 I’ll be heading to to trek through valleys in the Himalayan foothills, to reach the remote Nepalese villages of Bumburi, Khari Khola and Bupsa, to support ongoing work with Moving Mountains.
My volunteering there will involve running an on-site dental clinic, to provide basic dental care to villagers of all ages, many of whom will have had no access to health care for months or years. As well as this I'll be involved in a project to connect village houses to a new water system, putting in taps & piping to ‘turn on’ their water supply.I've got just over a month to reach my target. Sara and I have done all sorts of things to raise some cash already - we've packed hundreds and hundreds of shopping bags, sold raffle tickets, made dozens of Santa hats, done some dodgy "bar work", clinical trials, and even sold ourselves at a slave auction..
I'd really appreciate any kind of support you can give me! The money I am raising, and your donations, will go to funding this amazing project.
