Hi everyone! i want to raise at least £500 for the British Hen Welfare Trust by getting as many people as possible to sponser me to walk up Mount Snowdon in Wales barefoot. I plan to do this on the August Bank Holiday weekend! (30th August 2010). I will be camping in Snowdonia the night before and hopefully will have some friendly support (shoe wearing optional). ALL MONEY DONATED WILL GO TO THE BRITISH HEN WELFARE TRUST! :> I have been up snowdon twice before (with shoes) and know it wont be easy! Theres a gentler path which is about 10 miles long.

Anyone who knows me and my chickens or knows about The British Hen Welfare Trust will realise what fantastic and worthwhile work they do for the hens rescued from terrible conditions in battery cages.

Each year the British Hen Welfare Trust save approximately 60,000 hens from slaughter and find them caring pet homes, some hens are unfortunately left behind in the battery cages destined to be slaughtered.  Your donation to the British Hen Welfare Trust will help them expand the charity and raise awareness about the condition of battery farms and hopefully one day all Hens will be free range.  Here is what your donations could help to buy for the ex-battery hens (this is copies of the British Hen Welfare Trust Website):

 £7 - Bale of hen bedding

£12 - 20kg sack of poultry feed

£15 - Transport carrier for poorly hens

£25 - 30L Water drinker

£30 - Poultry crate

£32 - Poultry feeder

£225 - Custom made tarpaulin (for our trailers)

£300 - Small hen house

£500 -  Medium hen house 

£1200 - Trailer
