Story
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. We are fighting cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it to save more lives. We are entirely funded by the public. With your help, we can ensure more people beat cancer.
I am raising money for Cancer Research UK as late last year my Auntie lost her battle with cancer and I would like to help prevent other people having to go through such losses.
This race in Late May will also roughly coincide with my (fingers crossed) five years all clear from testicular cancer. I was diagnosed in Febrary 2010 had the surgery to remove the 'toxic testicle' as the letter from the NHS said, my final check-up will be August this year. My doctor said they usually give a small dose of chemo but two years previous to this I suffered a stroke on 15th September 2008 and had to learn how to walk and talk again plus spell my four letter name lol. Only recently have I had to ability to run confidently so hopefully I can finish but don't expect world record pace... not till next year.
Like most families we have lost too many people to cancer but hopefully with any donation big or small, less people will have to suffer thanks to great work from Cancer Research UK.
