The children I am photographed with are really very pleased that you have taken the First Step toward supporting a number of communities in Kenya. I urge you to visit the www.footstepsuk.org to find-out a little more about the Footsteps charity.
WE HAVE JUST CLIMBED Africa’s biggest mountain to raise money for very worthwhile charities. Anything that you donate will be put to good use & is gratefully received but I would ask you to dig as deep as you can.
A little about why we did it...
I have just returned from Africa and it is very difficult to know where to start when one is witness to the problems that the people of Kenya face. There is widespread drought & hunger, civil unrest & political corruption, a rampant Aids epidemic which directly results in many orphaned children who are vulnerable, hungry & uncared for, the majority of the populace live in dire poverty & for those people there are few options for finding a route to a better life.
I support Footsteps because they have been working with communities in one of the poorest regions of Kenya, to develop a number of programmes that empower the community to take steps toward positive & sustainable change, with a focus on improving conditions for the children of those communities. Having seen the projects first hand & spent time with the children of these communities I can only fully endorse the great work Footsteps are doing. It directly results in healthy, happy & educated children - what could be better???
