Story
Hello - our names are Paul Formanko and Oskar Kocol from Dulwich College, South London. After our exams in summer we will be aiming to cycle the 1,000km which separate London from Nice in less than 2 weeks (averaging 100km every day), aiming to raise £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.
We hope to gather donations from people and organisations alike, in terms of physical donations and online donations for those further afield.
We chose this charity as we both have friends or family who’ve been affected by the disease, and we would like to give something back as well as challenge ourselves.
We will be passing through many scenic towns and cities throughout France, and staying in youth hostels and bed and breakfast places in order to minimise our cost for the trip. We will be leaving London on the 20th June and aim to arrive in Nice by the 2nd of July. We will be entirely self sufficient, having booked the hostels and planned the routes entirely by ourselves. We will be relying on our knowledge of basic French to get us from place to place, and won’t be supported by a support vehicle – we will be funding our trip entirely by ourselves, using just our bikes and a ferry to cross the Channel for transport.
If we arrive ahead of schedule, we’ll go further to Monaco and the Italian border.
We would love you to donate and support our ride, and especially our cause!
