Nick, Darren, Phil and myself will be taking part in this year’s Windsor Half Marathon in memory of my Mum, Jennifer who was tragically taken from us in a sudden and unforeseen car accident and sadly passed away on Thursday May 20th, 2010.
Jennifer was the most caring, genuine and honest lady you could ever wish to meet, and all those who met her, experienced her wonderful warmth and generosity, as did many charities. We would now like to continue this charitable work by raising money for the Hampshire Air Ambulance Team who assisted and comforted my Mum during her time of greatest need.
It costs around £110,000 per month to maintain the service, approx £3,600 per day, and given that the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Charity is solely funded by the community (they receive no government, or national lottery funding) they rely solely on the generosity and commitment of people to keep them flying and helping people like my Mum.
Please help by donating as much as you can reasonably afford and know that your donation will go a long way to comfort and hopefully save those in great need.
I would also like to highlight the efforts of Darren's son, Alex who will be competing in his first triathlon on Sunday 9th October...... thanks Alex and good luck!!
