so Fireflies - what's it all about then ?
Well a group of amateur cyclists are going to undertake a grueling ride from Geneva to Cannes via The Alps covering a staggering distance of over 1000km ! And it's not some namby pampy bike ride either we are peddling UP approx 20 mountains en route to Cannes and when I say up it really is up - it's up past where the ski lifts go and then some !
... and what is the Leuka charity ?
Leuka is a charity dedicated to raising money for the haematology unit
at the Catherine Lewis Centre at the Hammersmith Hospital. The unit
undertakes research in to the causes and treatment of leukaemia. It is
believed that achieving a greater understanding of leukaemia will help
in the fight against all forms of cancer.
My own family has been affected by cancer as have so many
others. So please join me, don't worry not literally, but by making a
donation.
