My story

On the way down south for the London to Brighton ride. At least it'll be daylight this time!

Updated on May 5th 2012 at 11:15 AM from the JustGiving API

I'll be doing the Vale of Belvoir 40 miler in just over a week... and if the weather's like this I reckon I'll have definitely earned that fiver you keep promising yourself to give me!

Yes, I'm doing a whole bunch of charity bike rides this year, all over the country and beyond!

I'll be riding to various places from London, such as Reading and Brighton (3 times), I'll be mountain biking over the Isle of Man, hacking around Sherwood Forest and even riding from Cologne in GERMANY back to the UK!!

Why am I doing this? Well, simply put, rather than just ride around to keep fit, I wanted to do something worthwhile, something that everyone would tell me I was a complete plank for attempting and something that would benefit others.

It was either this or buy a sports car and get a hair weave.

As well as me raising sponsorship for the BHF, everything you donate through here will go to GamesAid, a bunch of thoroughly nice people who will take your cash and distribute it to a number of other charities, mainly focused on children’s charities here in the UK.

As the great Robbie Williams said, “We’re doing it for the kids” and we really are.

So open that wallet, pop the popper on your purse and tap in your card details to donate some cash. Don’t forget to tick the GiftAid box too! (unless you’re Harry Redknapp, in which case, leave it, probably best not to confuse things further, eh?)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please dig deep and donate now, you know it'll give you that warm glow of goodness!

My updates 1

So I completed the Vale of Belvoir (pronounced 'beaver') Ride a couple of weekends ago. In a few days I've got the most gruelling ride so far, the London to Brighton NIGHT ride... no riding buddy on this one either, so it's me and the iPod for 65 miles, in the dark...
