Caring Matters Now is a charity that helps support families with children born with CMN, a very rare congenital condition with no current known cause and limited tretment options. The Charity also funds a clinical research post at Great Ormond Street Hospital, which provides specialist treatment for children with the condition and research into the causes and future treatments.
This is a Charity very close to my heart, which is why I decided to enter this event and try and raise a bit of money for Caring Maters Now in the process.
So what is Hellrunner all about, and more to the point what have I let myself in for?
The Run's website advertises it as;
HellRunner™ is over multi-terrain and varying underfoot conditions. There will be everything from running tracks and trails to water-filled areas and plenty of steep hills. Expect to get very wet! It will be nature at its toughest. The course will be marked but do not expect to see mile or kilometre markers….that’s for those softy road running types. All you need to know is that the course will be probably more than 10 and less than 12 miles in length. Hey! With what we have in store, who’s counting?

Not easy for one of those "skinny whippet racing snake types" and a serious challenge for a big lad like me, still it's all in a good cause. I can't promise any record times, I will just be doing my best to survive the experience and complete the course !!!
