BWH Charity supports the work of Birmingham Women's Hospital. We fundraise to provide vital equipment and facilities to enable the best possible care for the women and babies of the West Midlands region.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Birmingham Women's Neonatal Department is a nationally recognised centre caring for babies with a multitude of problems. Advances in science and technology mean that they are now able to save many more babies which would not have survived only a few years ago.

The number of sick and premature babies received by the unit has dramatically increased in recent years. Last year it cared for 900 babies. Our beautiful daughter, Connie Elizabeth, was one of those.

When Connie was born at 32 weeks we were naturally terrified. She spent six weeks in the unit and we undoubtedly owe them her life. As a parent, I cannot find the words to thank them enough. So what better way is there to show them my eternal gratitude than to help them raise money to enable them to continue their great work and to help many more families who find themselves in our situation.

The Trust is planning to build a new centre which will have increased capacity for up to 50 neonatal cots. An appeal has been launched to raise £2 million for the project.

I will be running the Birmingham Half Marathon on 11th October in aid of the appeal and would be very grateful for your support. Even the smallest of contributions will make a big difference, just like the smallest of babies make a big difference to this world.

A very healthy Connie will be cheering her Mummy on from the crowd.

Thank you xxxx
