I finished in 7 hours 25 seconds!!! Not the best of times but I got my medal and have helped a brilliant charity. What a fantastic day :) Thank you to everyone who sponsored and supported me, thank you so much!

Hi all, welcome to my fundraising page for my attempt at the London Marathon on 25th April 2010!!! I entered into the ballot last year and hadn't really had any realistic expectations of being one of the 'lucky' ones to go through and about a month ago I received an email confirming I had been selected from the ballot. Ill be honest that my first thoughts were how do I get out of it! However, after thinking about it I realised this would be a huge and amazing challenge for me and gives me the option of raising money for a good cause, so I have really embraced the idea and have begun training.
I have chosen to run for The Neurofibromatosis Association - http://www.nfauk.org/, which is a charity set up for people with NF and their families. Many of you probably know my lovely sister Emir has NF Type 1, so in our eyes it is a charity close to our hearts and is extremely worthwhile. For those of you that don't know what NF is, it is caused by a mutation in a gene and refers to a group of genetic conditions in which non-cancerous tumours/growths affect the nervous system and/or bones and can be seen on the body. There are two types; NF1 and NF2 and the condition affects both sexes and all races equally.
If you would enjoy seeing me put through my paces with the training and wouldn't mind sponsoring me, it would be greatly appreciated! Otherwise your support would be equally as appreciated :)
Thank you!

Have just done my first 10k which was hard! Very glad to have reached my first milestone though and looking forward to going further.

Training is well and truely underway again after having the flu over Christmas and New Year. Last week I did my biggest run which was 8.7 miles - 1/3 of a marathon! Motivation gets hard especially when the weather is horrible, but its made easier as I have my running buddy and its all for a fantastic cause and is most certainly worth it!
Beginning Feb 2010
Now up to 11 miles which was very hard going, still the best bit is the food after - I celebrated with pizza and ice cream, a true athletes diet!
Beginning March 2010
Half marathon done and aiming for 20miles by end of month/beginning of April.
A huge thanks to everyone who has donated so far, I am overwhelmed by the generosity.
