As a community staff nurse I have alot of contact with St Marys and many patients benefit from the excellent work that they do. I also have a personal reason for supporting this charity as my mom used to attend their day centre once a week. She did this for 3 years but unfortunately passed away 11 years ago. It gave her the chance to socialise and have the support of the hospice during her time of illness.
St Marys have recently updated their day centre but unforunatley due to funding have not been able to replace the furniture that has gone back in. A riser-recliner chair will set back the charity around £2000 so it would be wonderful for St Marys to be able to get some new furniture with the proceeds.
My head shave is taking place on Sunday 1st May in Birmingham City Centre near to the Pavillions shopping centre. We will be there from 12 until 4pm but hoping for the actual shave to take place at 1.30pm so your support would be fantastic! Please donate as much as you can every donation no matter how big or small counts....don't forget you are donating for my public humiliation as well!!!!!!
