It's a new year and I'm about to turn 40 (!!!F@%#&@!!!), so to challenge myself and raise some $$ for animal sanctuaries, I'm going vegan for Veganuary. I've long been a critic of factory farming and after 20-something years of vegetarian ways (well, mostly, lol :P), thought I'd give veganism a go for at least a month. Feel free to laugh in my face if (when??) I fail and fall into a bowl of blue-cheese flavoured ice cream (I promise to Instragram my failure if this happens, and reimburse any donated funds).

Anyway, whether you're herbivore or omnivore, I think we can agree that the conditions for animals in factory farming, and the condition of our environment and health, would be better with more sustainable practices. I don't know that I'd go vegan for life, but I appreciate that causes like this draw attention to these issues. For my 40th birthday I'd love the present of small donations to the cause.
