I am doing it. I've signed up for my first -- gulp -- half marathon on 27 September here in London (no heckling, please, from you real athletic types). While I love nothing more than a personal challenge (although usually preferably one not so exhausting), the real reason I am doing it is to help raise money for Barretstown, the camp in Ireland for critically ill kids from all over Europe where I've volunteered in the past. It's an awe-inspiring, fun, humbling and beautiful place where sick kids get to go just be kids for a while (www.barretstown.org).
So, I'd really appreciate it if you could make a donation (no matter how small) to help.
Keep your fingers crossed, your trainers laced, and your oxygen tanks ready for what promises to be a stunning finish line performance.
Thanks in advance for your support for such a great cause. Btw, £250 is just the bare minimum I need to participate, please feel free to continue to give beyond that. All the money goes to Barretstown!
