Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the next few months I plan to embark on a number of fundraising events for causes that I believe in. This is my fundraising page for the Rome Marathon where I hope to raise £1000 for Human Rights Watch.I have been supporting various human rights causes since my school days by being an active member of the 'Catalyst Global Concern', and more recently being involved with Amnesty International at university. Projects that I have been involved in include organising a rock concert to raise awareness about child trafficking in South East Asia, conducting surveys and raising awareness about ill treatment of domestic helpers in Singapore and raising awareness on the LSE campus about women’s' rights. I have also been involved in Legal Pro Bono work to give access to legal advice to people who would otherwise be unable to afford this and exercise their rights.
Human Rights Watch is an independent organisation dedicated to protecting human rights around the world. This organisation is not just about helping people whose rights have been violated, but its main aims are also to investigate and expose human rights violations, and hold abusers accountable. Human Rights Watch regularly meets with governments, international organisations such as the United Nations and African Union, as well as corporations in order to promote human rights and justice.
