Madrid to Slough epic cycling challenge 2019 · 13 March 2019

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page!

I'm cycling from Madrid to Slough in October 2019, to raise vital funds for the NSPCC. This will be by far my longest ride ever, covering some 400 miles, including some very challenging climbs!

The NSPCC carry out some fantastic work. Do you know? In an average primary school class, at least two children have suffered abuse or neglect?

Child abuse is preventable, not inevitable. It's up to each one of us to do everything possible to keep children safe from abuse, so they can grow up happy, healthy and thrive. So as long as there is abuse, the NSPCC will fight for every childhood.

Please donate to help the NSPCC continue doing the great work they do, protecting our children and helping keep them safe. Any donation is much appreciated - don't forget to tick the gift aid box too!

Your donation will be going to a great cause, and at the same time, provide a big motivational boost, when my legs are giving up on me!

A quote form a parent using the system:

“I feel like this online threat to our children is huge, and I don’t think people are aware enough. We don’t know what’s influencing our children, even inside our own homes. They’re growing into their personalities and they are going to do things that surprise us – sometimes brilliant, sometimes not brilliant – and we, as parents, have very little control. All we can do is just try and help them as best we can. As a mum, I was devastated by what had happened, but the support that I got from the NSPCC and O2 was fantastic – it’s a really excellent resource.”

Every Child really does Matter.

Many thanks
