Hi Everybody
On 25th April I will be having a sunday run around the little village of London to raise money for the YMCA.
If your like me, I didnt really have any background knowledge on the YMCA, what they did as an organisation, their values, purpose belonging etc etc etc.
But I have learnt a great deal about their range of programmes that encourage and develop a person, but most importantly the team of people that work tirelessly with so much passion and dedication to serve the needs of the young and homeless. Below is a few of the support services which the YMCA offer in Northamptonshire:
The YMCA focus on young people and the homeless providing floating support across the county. We try and build firm foundations and be a advocacy for the voiceless!
The Northamptonshire YMCA provide family residentials whereby all family members can go and enjoy parenting workshops & outdoor activities.
The YMCA have been effective in meeting the needs of the young people providing information, support and activities in hot spot areas where young people may be disengaging with mainstream services.
The YMCA offers a mobile youth project where it engages with children out of school hours providing a free and accessible local service in disadvantaged wards, enhancing childrens confidence and self esteem and improves community safety.
The YMCA provides accomodation for young people aged 16-25 across the county changing attitudes, managing behaviours and providing strategies for avoiding trouble and managing feelings.
The YMCA will help young adults into employment through work experience and training.
These are just a few of the brilliant things the YMCA do within Northamptonshire so please donate as much as you can for a worthy cause.
