My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My brother Toby, my brother-in-law Dan, and I will be participating in the Fowey River Triathlon this September, in memory of my father who died earlier this summer. We want to use this opportunity to raise some money on his behalf for a charity that was very close to his heart.

The Jubilee Sailing Trust owns and operates Lord Nelson and Tenacious, the only two tall ships in the world designed and built to enable people of all physical abilities to sail side-by-side as equals.

My father passionately believed in the work that they do and was involved as a regular crew member 'buddying' a physically disabled crew member, as ships doctor, and also as a fundraiser for the charity.

The Fowey River Triathlon involves a 600m swim across the estuary, a 30km cycle and a 12km run. It's tough and I don't expect to win but I will do my best to at least finish!

Thanks for any donations received.

We have seen time and time again, the benefits to both able-bodied and disabled people who have sailed on the LORD NELSON and TENACIOUS. Any help you are able to give will enable us to continue to make a difference, not just on our ships but in the homes, workplaces and communities of all our voyage crew. So many of the lessons learnt on our ships.
