Thank you for taking the time to visit - just £90 to go now (at the time of writing). This project means a lot to me in memorial of a much loved Uncle Mutley, but it also means a lot to local children in our immediate area. We will be providing a summary of the local causes supported after the event, if you're interested please contact me (preserving anonymity as would be expected).
Training's going well thus far... partnering Mr Gage on training runs is highly advisable and always entertaining - between handlebars that aren't attached, runaway panniers and revelations such as his touring bike having only 3 gears - it's a must for any bucketlist!
I've covered just over a thousand miles in recent months, so I'm as prepared as I'll ever be.
All in all it's been a great experience thus far, and the team have been phenominal in pulling this together whilst busy on all manner of things. The evening auction and function will be hosted by Nick from breakfast, who's kindly offered his time to the cause, and promises to be a good night out.
On June 25th we will be setting off c. 8am, aiming to get back into town late afternoon. We'll be hosting a charity auction at Church's Bar and Bistro in the town centre (www.churchsipswich.co.uk), starting 6.30pm, where a decent percentage (15%) of the takings will also go to the cause.
Any ideas on the auction of local prizes / experiences would really be appreciated.
Included in the team are: Phil Gage, Jeff Hunter, Andrew Hughes, William Hughes, Karen Sewell, Trevor Sewell, Richard Garside, Mike Eldergill, Paul Morris. Nick Pandolfi, Dave and Georgia Lloyd as well as Sally and Richard Budden are helping with the coordination of the effort.
