The PSU's team completed the second annual Manchester Legal Sponsored Walk on 24th September 2009 and is still raising funds for hard pressed legal advice and support charities in the North West including the PSU itself.
The PSU provides support to people going to court on their own. Every day, people appear at court in Manchester dealing with matters that will have a dramatic effect on the rest of their lives - insolvency, eviction, employment, debt, divorce, contact with children. Those who cannot afford a lawyer to represent them can find the experience particularly difficult. Volunteers from the PSU provide vital support - helping people find their way around the building, accompanying them in court, and offering emotional support and practical information. We are a small charity with limited resources and we really appreciate your support.
Message from the North West Legal Support Trust (NWLST): Thank you so much for supporting the 2nd Manchester Legal Sponsored Walk. The Walk is organised by the NWLST, a new charity that has been established to improve access to justice in the North West. Our friends at the London Legal Support Trust (LLST) are hosting our web pages because NWLST does not have that facility yet - LLST do this for free and 100% of the funds raised through this page will be passed to NWLST.
