Transplantation is a miracle of modern medicine.
Over 1400 life-saving transplantations are performed each year in the UK. Many lives are saved with successful transplantation surgery and immunosuppression drugs. However, there are overwhelmingly over 7000 patients on the waiting list. Everyday, 3 patients died whilst waiting.
The Transplant Trust is the UK's leading charity funding reserach into transplantation and works alongside government and NHS bodies to encourage more people to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.
