My story

LEGAL STATEMENT

As head of Parley (registered charity no: 1128687), it has been brought to my attention that there is an alleged fraud against the charity involving “Tom’s Project”.We have reported this matter to the police and now hold an incident number. We are assisting the police with their inquiries, and an appointment with investigators has been made for Monday 5th July. Unfortunately, due to the seriousness of the allegation, the police have advised us that at this stage we cannot refund any donations that have come through “Tom’s Project” until the investigation is complete. However, none of the generous donations made have been passed on and remain safely held in our charitable account. We are very sorry that this situation has arisen, and we will keep you updated as soon as we have any further information. Despite the fact that we are also victims of this fraud, we still believe in the essence of “Tom’s Project”, and once the investigation is completed we will be pursuing the ultimate aim of getting iPods into children’s wards.I cannot answer any questions specifically as this is now a legal matter. Victoria PaineFounder and head of Parley

THE PROJECT TO CONTINUE...

We're trying to fundraise to provide children and their parents with a connection to the outside world when in specialist isolation units in Childrens hospitals.

This was inspired by a boy called 'Tom' and his story of isolation when having hospital treatment, who said an iPod helped him keep in touch with people he cared about!

Keeping in touch with friends, family and even the odd teacher can help these children so much at a time when they feel so alone.

Of course iPods can also be used to provide entertainment through music, youtube and watching TV too!

The items will be donated through the specialist units for children with terminal illness throughout the UK and will be the property of each hospital only not of the child.

Please donate as little as £2 to make this project come alive!

Many thanks for donating!
