Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be running the 5 km race for life in Reading on 18th July.  I am doing this for my friend Becky who is currently being treated for cervical cancer.  I met Becky through our antenatal classes a few years ago and since then Becky has always been funny, caring, generous and a pleasure to be be around.

I would like to show Becky my support and since I cannot influence the medical aspects of treating this illness,  I thought I'd let her know that I think of her at least three days per week, as she inspires me to get on with my training.

And as for me, well, I had never run before in my life! but I must admit I am finding the whole experience very rewarding.  I enrolled on a training plan to take me from 0 to 5km in eight weeks (that are almost finished), bought new trainers, and even took them on holidays (and actually used them)!!  and listened to all the tips of the pros out-there to be ready for Sunday18th July.

The support I've received during the past few weeks has encouraged me to keep going.  So, now I would appreciate it if you could support me and Cancer Research with your contributions; they will be matched by the Vodafone Foundation, so every little you give will count double!
