Dear Friends,
On the 25th April 2002, I was blessed with two beautiful children, Shannon and Sebastian. On the 14th of June 2002, at just 50 days old, my beautiful and precious daughter fell fast asleep, never to be woken again.
In 2010, Shannon would have been aged 8 and as her birthday falls on the day of the Marathon, I could not think of a more fitting way to honour her memory than to run the Marathon.
I am running for FSID (Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths), who supported my family and I through a very difficult time in our lives. They have continued to support us through the years and I would like to raise as much money as possible to help other families who experience such tragedy.
So please, please dig deep and donate as much as possible, every pound will help.
Thank you for your donation, which is hugely appreciated!!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Dear Friends,
Firstly, thank you for all your kind wishes and donations. I completed the Marathon and have my medal to prove it!
It was an emotional journey and a physically agonizing one, but I ran and walked (most of it) to raise money for FSiD in memory of my daughter. There were times I thought I was not going to make it, but the crowds were amazing in their support and I knew that I had all of you supporting me too.
Thanks to your kind generosity, the money will go towards helping research in keeping new born babies alive. I lost my baby girl and nothing will ever change that, no matter how much we wish it was all just a bad dream. The money will help support families who have lost a child to cot death. I can not thank you enough for supporting me.
Best wishes
Patrina
