My story
Well, next year will be my 40th birthday and I thought what better thing to do than to raise much needed funds for a charity I strongly believe in by running the London Marathon on my birthday weekend! I know what you're thinking... the only running I tend to do is to go to the cake shop, but this really is a cause I strongly believe in, as they do a huge amount of pioneering work to help our pets, as a species as a whole.
Please please dig deep, knowing you will be helping millions of dogs, cats and horses. The marathon is 26 miles and it would be lovely if you could sponsor £1 for every mile I run (or more if you'd like!). Believe you me, I will be suffering for it! ;)
The Animal Health Trust (AHT) work to fight disease and injury in animals. Thanks to their pioneering work improving diagnosis, treatment and prevention, horses, dogs and cats are living healthier, happier lives – in the UK and across the world.
They also spend their money wisely - For every £1 you donate, they spend 92p fighting disease and injury in animals. They use the remaining 8p to raise the next £1.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Finished the Reading Half-Marathon on Arpil fool's day (very appropriate!). Great atmosphere and felt really good afterwards. All part of the tapering now, as I have now finished the last of my 'long' runs - 18 miles. Felt great afterwards! Really looking forward to Marathon Day!
MK Half-marathon finished in March as part of my training. Weather was absolutely awful, but the legs kept going. Really pleased, as it was my very first half-marathon ever!!
