Story
Swimathon 2020 is back! Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Swimathon 2020 was originally postponed to October 2020. Given that there will be new social distancing procedures in place within swimming venues, the postponed Swimathon event will be coming to you as a brand-new virtual event! Thousands of swimmers will be heading down to their local pool between July and October to complete their challenge, and raise money for our two amazing charity partners.
Cancer Research UK, the worlds leading cancer charity is dedicated to saving lives through funding research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Cancer Research UK are the only charity fighting over 200 cancer types but don't receive any government funding for their work, so their progress is all thanks to the support of people like you.
Marie Curie provides expert care, guidance and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. Around 2,100 Marie Curie Nurses work day and night, in peoples homes all over the UK, providing hands-on care to people when they need it most.
Together we can really make a difference. We invite our swimmers to tell their story to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for these two incredible causes
After successfully completing the triple 5k swim before lockdown I have re-entered the Myswimathon 2020 to help the charities recoup some of their lost revenue and will attempt the swim on Wednesday 5th August at The Guildenburg Water Whittlesey.
The swim was completed on Wednesday 5th August 2020, time was 2hrs 20mins.
Thank you for your donations.
