My story

 

On Sunday 1 November 2009 I will be running the New York Marathon in memory of my sister Anne who passed away in 2007 after a courageous battle against breast cancer.

Anne was known and loved by so many people and I know that many of you think about her often and remember the great times we all had in her company.

I will be raising funds for the Genesis Appeal, a charity based at  the University Hospital of South Manchester with a particular focus on research with the aim of preventing breast cancer. Every penny you donate will go directly to the Genesis Appeal and Gift Aid will be reclaimed on eligible donations made by a UK tax payer.

Training is going well despite the return of the dreaded arthritis but a weekend in Italy and a week running up the hills of Donegal seem to have done the trick.

Please donate as much as you can. I will try and give you all  a couple of updates prior to the marathon and will definitely let you know how I get on.

I hope you will join me in remembering Anne in this way and at the same time help to prevent breast cancer.
