7 staff from the East of England Ambulance Service, North Essex locality, are raising funds for The Ambulance Services Benevolent Fund (ASBF) by cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats, which they did between 4th -12th May 2012. At 1530 on Saturday 12th we rode into John O'Groats after nine days of wind, rain, sleet, cold and some sunshine. So far we are half way to our target fundraising total of £10,000.
We have received tremendous support from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust and other companies, organisations, charities and individuals to enable this event to happen and we are very grateful.
The ASBF help serving and retired NHS ambulance personnel, and their dependants, in times of exceptional hardship, poverty or need. The ASBF provides grants and other support for individuals reqiuring specialised equipment and home adaptations for medical needs. It also provides aid for those experiencing extreme financial hardship.
We are continuing to raise funds for the rest of 2012 by organising various activities so please continue to follow us on www.facebook.com/PedallingParamedics & twitter@pedallingparas
