Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I decided to take a gap year a few weeks at a time over the next few years! In February 2011,(to celebrate THAT birthday) I was able to visit Kwinella school in The Gambia to teach for two weeks and to find out for myself what sort of difference I can make through collections and fund-raising at home. I am not asking for personal sponsorship in any way, only for some help in fundraising for this small and very worthwhile charity - do please look at their website. Over the past year thanks to the generosity of many people I have been able to reach my original target of paying for a year's school meals for the two schools currently supported (770 children) So I am now extending the target to try to add 100 mosquito nets to the total. Each net, costing about £7 is potentially a life saver; malaria is the leading cause of death in the under fives and among pregnant women in The Gambia.
