It's been done! My head feels very light and I look so different! See the new photos and please make a donation. My plait was just over 13 inches.
Hello! I've been growing my hair since I was about 4 and, as you can see, it's very long! All being well, on 2nd June 2011, I'm going to have it cut off to just below my ears, to make a wig for someone about my age who has got cancer. My hair will actually make the wig, which is why there needs to be 12 inches of it at least, although I think it's about 14 inches. When I've had my hair cut I'll post some more photos, so that you can recognise me when you next see me.
Zichron Menachem (In Memory of Menachem) is a charity which supports Israeli children who have cancer, and their families. It doesn't care what religion you are or where you come from. It only cares that you have cancer. The aim is to raise enough money to actually make the wig, so the charity doesn't have to pay anything. If I raise more money than that, I will let the charity use it for their other projects, which you can read about on their website.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you!
