Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After another fun evening with our friends the Hibberts, the subject of running races was discussed. I have always wanted to run an ultra marathon and after a few glasses of wine we decided it was a brilliant idea to sign up there and then to run 100K. In the morning I awoke to realise what I had done and decided 50k (32 miles) was a slighlty more realistic distance to aim for! I have run a marathon in the past but the idea of running an additional 6 miles on top of a full marathon is a challenge in itself and one I really want to achieve.
To help keep me motivated through the training and on the day itself I would like to raise some money for Brain Tumor Research. This charity is close to my heart having experienced first hand the reality of finding out I have a brain tumor, the fear of the unknown when waiting for the results and what needed to happen next is something I will never forget. Thankfully for me I have a tumor that is benign but lots of other people are not so lucky. Brain Tumour Research is a UK based medical research charity dedicated to finding a cure for brain tumours of all kinds. To take part I have to raise a minumum of £150 by the end of July, I would be so grateful for any donation no matter how small to help me raise money for this brillant charity and the ongoing research it does to continue to prolong and save peoples lives.
Thank you for your support!
Pete
