Welcome to my JustGiving Page Petra Helm for Friends of the Earth.
About my Giving Hour
I am lucky enough to have won a place on the fourth plinth One and Other project in Trafalgar Square.
2,400 people each have one hour for 100 days, to do as they choose on the plinth.
During my hour I would like to raise awareness of 10 great charities I support.
The aim is to raise £100 each, so £1000 in total.
Please follow the links at the bottom of this page for more information.
Why Friends of the Earth?
As a teenager (a few years ago now) I came across Friends of the Earth.
I was so pleased there were people who thought like me! This planet is the only one we have. Man made factors were causing environmental problems for all inhabitants of Earth. Only a handful of organisations had the guts to stand up and say 'Stop Doing That!'
Be it companies, corporations or countries, no one was too big to be held to account. We need people who find
these misdeeds and bring them to light so we can lend our voices and be heard. We all need someone to stand up
for us when our back is turned, so join me in helping watch our planet Earth's back.
About Friends of the Earth

Previous success for Friends of the Earth and all of us include...

The Big Ask campaign launched in 2005 with nearly 200,000 people contacting their MP's directly asking for a
strong climate law and the Government was forced to listen. The law means: Big cuts in greenhouse emissions,
Monitoring progress is maintained, Policies consider future climate impacts, Solutions- directing business
to invest in solutions to climate change.
