My story

 

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to run The Everest Marathon this year!  I am going to be turning the big 5-0 next year and I love mountains.  Initially I was asked along by my husband who is part of the medical team and who knows I would love to go to the Himalayas. I am a physiotherapist and thought I might come in useful! I did not want to return feeling that I would have liked to run so  decided to have a go!!

I have done some fell running in the past (3 Peaks three times) but never competed more than 10k! This was going to be my 1st marathon!!! I decided I had better run one training marathon to be sure I could last the distance which will happen on 11/10/09.  I must say the last 3 months of training have taken their toll on my feet but I am soldiering on. 

This is my chance to give something back to the people of Nepal through fundraising for The Marathon Fund and also to the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) who were kind enough to come and rescue me and my family after a recent boating incident.

John and I have trained together (although I go a little further than he does) both in running and wilderness medicine and we are both very excited about this trip.

All donations go directly to the charities and we fund our own costs.  Hopefully you will help me reach my target!
