Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many of you will know Lily our 7 year old daughter. Before birth she was diagnosed  with abnormalities of her kidneys and at the age of 18 months she underwent corrective surgery.  We are indebted to the work of the Consultants and renal unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital for the care and support they gave us through those difficult times. So for my first ever 26 miles I have chosen to run for a charity close to my heart - "Kids Kidney Research". KKR support vital kidney research for babies and children across the UK into areas such as:

Defining the best treatment for children with reflux

Exploring new therapies which can potentially heal damaged kidneys

Finding the faulty genes which can run in families and cause kidney diseases

For more information of the great work that they do check out their website - www.kidskidneyresearch.org

Oh and perhaps I should mention that on my list of "things to do before I'm 50" - running a marathon was at the top. I trained hard for the 2010 marathon but ended up stranded in Portugal by the ash cloud, so I've just had to keep running for another year. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
