Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know, I'm competing in the Phuket triathlon on 6 December.  In doing so, I'm hoping to raise some much needed cash for the Christina Noble Children's Foundation, a wonderful charity dedicated to helping underpriviliged children in Asia (http://www.cncf.org/en/home/index.php).

The race itself involves a 1.8km sea swim (see photo of last years swim start in the top left hand corner of this page), a 55km (hilly) bike ride and a 12km run in high temperatures and humidity.  Some of you will remember that when I first attempted this race back in 2000, I spent 2 nights in the intensive care ward of the local hospital with severe dehydration and heat stroke.  It's not particularly straightforward and I'm 9 years older now....but much wiser!  I've trained hard for this for the past 6 months - not always easy in the Hong Kong environment - and I'm determined to finish the course whatever happens.

I'd really appreciate you making a donation no matter how small.  I'm using this site because I've been told it's simple, fast and totally secure. You won't receive any unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer (adding 28%).  This should more than offset the 5% charge the site makes on all donations, even allowing for donations made in Hong Kong and elsewhere.  If it doesn't, I guarantee I'll make up the difference so that all donations (and hopefully a bit more) will go to the charity).

The donations need to be pledged in pounds sterling - here's some exchange rates as of 25 November:

GBP1 = US$1.66 / JPY147 / HK$12.84 / AUS1.80

Many thanks in advance,

Phil
