On October 7, I am doing a stand up gig at City Hall in front of 500 people to raise money for Weston Park Hospital (for those of you not in Sheffield, it's a cancer hospital that does some fantastic work). It's called Funny Business and I'll be joined by 7 other normal, brave folk who have decided to put their comedy skills on the line to do a good deed. Me? I'm just in it for the groupies.

Pretty much everyone will know someone affected by cancer, if not directly, so you don't need me to tell you what an important cause it is.

So what I really want from you is two-fold...

1. Come and see me perform. Having people who know me come to support me really will make this a whole lot more nerve-wracking but I guess that's the point, no? Plus, from your point of view, if I'm funny, you'll laugh with me, if I'm awful, you'll have a laugh at me. 

2. Sponsor me. This is such a worthy cause and to be frank, it takes cohonas to get on stage and tell jokes, so I'd really appreciate some financial support so I'm not doing it for nowt.
