Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Now being retired I have been thinking of combining one of my passions, cycling, with raising money for a deserving cause. Therefor I opted for the holy grail of cycling in the UK and I am cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats during September 2013. My start date is 31st August and I should arrive at John O'Groats on the 16th September which will allow for a couple of rest days en route.

The route is 960 miles over 15 legs averaging 64 miles per day.

I will be supported by Anne who is driving the motorhome and looking after all my needs.

I have chosen to donate any monies raised to the Douglas Bader Foundation. The Foundation exists to advance and promote the physical, mental and spiritual welfare of persons who are without one or more limbs, or otherwise physically disabled.

Members of my cycling club CMC have benefited from the foundation and two later became ambassadors for the charity. Having undertaken a previous fund raising ride from Holyhead to Mumbles with members of the foundation I was both humbled and inspired with their courage and determination to suceed.

A blog from the Holyhead to Mumbles Challenge can be found here;

Please support this worthy cause so that their good work may continue.
