Farsley Celtic Supporters Club are taking part in the inaugural New Years Day walk, to their North Yorkshire neighbours Harrogate Town, whom they play on 1st January 2010, kick off 3pm.

Leaving Throstle Nest at 9am, members of the Supporters Club aim to walk the 15 or so miles, arriving in time for kick off.

The Supporters Club will donate all sponsorship towards Martin House Children's Hospice in Boston Spa .Martin House Hospice care for Children and Young People with progressive life limiting illnesses, and provide support to their families.

Announcing the decision, Matthew Hill, Chairman of the Supporters Club said " We have chosen Martin House to receive  the proceeds of our inaugural sponsored walk because we felt that whilst the club's plight in the last few months has centred on its adult team, the club has of course a thriving junior section and it would be nice to be able to donate a small amount to an institution that has young people less fortunate than our own. "
