Some 3 months ago, fourteen members of staff from Phoenix Futures signed up, some more begrudingly than others, to take part in Bupa's 5K Great Capital Run. On Sunday 13th September our staff travelled from various locations across the country and headed to Regent's Park, kitted out in Phoenix T-Shirts, and ran their socks off! Crossing the finish line, with the fastest time being 20 minutes (wow!), you could see the sense of achievement our staff felt as everyone congratulated each other for giving their all!! This great effort has been made to raise money for our two unique family services, one located in Brighton and the other in Sheffield, which work with whole family units. As the poem highlights, these services are very important to so many families and we would like to produce some materials that will help the children of these services understand what is happening to their mums and dads and why they have had to move house and sometimes school. We want to get the children involved in producing the material so it is going to be more expensive than just the cost of producing some leaflets. Phoenix Futures understands the importance of families and involving families is integral to the work of all our services so please donate whatever you can, it will make a real difference!
