The centre provides supportive care to cancer patients, their carers and children. It helps people find ways of coping with the physical and psychosocial effects of the illness, helping them to live through the illness with maximum independence and optimum quality of life. The service is free.

My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm swimming the Great North Swim, 1500m in Lake Windermere on September 12th to raise funds for the fantastic Cavendish Centre in Sheffield. They are funded 100% by voluntary donation and they support Cancer patients by offering different therapies not normally available through the NHS. Six years ago, when I had breast cancer, I was given 6 sessions of shiatsu massage at the Cavendish Centre in what came to me to represent an oasis of calm in a diffciult time. Between us, we could ensure that another couple of people receive the support that I did,
