Sponsored Walk GEP · 18 October 2009

The Ghana Education Project works in the region of Nkwanta in North East Ghana. It seeks to promote the development of the local community through education, training and the associated infrastructure. Our pioneering Girls’ School opened in September 2013. http://www.ghanaeducationproject.org.uk/

Story

The Ghana Education Project has been running for many years now and girls from TWGGS go out to teach every 2 years.

I am lucky enough to be one of those girls on the 2010 team. We have a target of £40,000 to reach by the time we go out there. This is a big target but even small donations help a lot.

What has GEP done?

-Run training courses for teachers in Science and Maths and provided supporting resources.

-Developed a literacy project to help Primary School pupils

-Initiated the Nkwanta Award scheme.organized container shipments from the UK of school, medical and sports equipment

-Financed, restored and equipped buildings for educational resources and the local Wildlife Trust

-Most recently it has built the Kyabobo Centre, a Sports, Arts and Culture centre
