About Project Change
After the riots in Croydon and other places last August, there was a lot of media coverage about “feral teenagers”.
In fact, most of the people convicted of offences in Croydon on 8th August weren’t teenagers and only a tiny minority of young people in Croydon were involved, but the media love to stereotype.
It’s time we did something about it.
With the help of Croydon MP Gavin Barwell, we have got together a group of young people from right across the borough who are going to meet up once a month to do something to improve the town – and hopefully change other people’s perceptions of young people in the process.
We’ll decide what we are going to do and Gavin has said he’ll help arrange the necessary funding and equipment - and provide a reference for anyone who turns up regularly.
