Shyam Kumari Sah is a woman human rights defender (WHRD) working in the Terai region of Nepal, an area in which any human rights defender would be in danger. She has faced severe threats and intimidation for her work on behalf of victims of rape, domestic violence and other human rights violations.

A protective international presence is needed to ensure that WHRDs like Shyam Kumari Sah can continue their work for peace and social justice without fear of reprisals.

£5 would cover regular phone calls to check on a WHRD’s safety and wellbeing over one month.

£10 would enable weekly visits to a WHRD at their place of work, providing moral support and visibly demonstrating international concern over one month.

£125 helps PBI activate its support network in times of heightened risk for a WHRD.

£500 provides security workshops for 20 WHRDs.
