Putting Down Roots Thames Walk · 4 October 2009

St Mungo’s provides a bed and support to more than 3,150 people a night who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Putting Down Roots staff, volunteers, friends and family are doing a sponsored walk along the River Thames to raise money for the Putting Down Roots Project.

Putting Down Roots is part of the charity St Mungo’s and gives people who have experienced homelessness the opportunity to do gardening as a way to develop work and generic skills, socialise, and gain mental and physical health benefits.  We look after community and public green spaces and grow food in an allotment.  From time to time we take our volunteers on trips to broaden their gardening knowledge and to enjoy a day away together.  Funds raised from this walk will go towards these trips.
