We believe no child should ever have to live on the streets.

Story

Every year up to 200 people take a weekend out to travel round Great Britain in a train, climbing the Three Peaks, Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, the highest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland.  They do this to raise money for the Railway Children, which supports kids who have run away to, or been abandoned at, railway stations.  The event has raised over £100,000 each time it has been run, and well over a million pounds since it started in 2004.

This year Andy Savage, Andy Hall, David Godley and Andrew Fisher formed a team for the event.  Three of us had done it before, so we had no excuses - we knew what we were in for, climbing Snowdon in the dark, a five mile hike across the fells before we climb Scafell Pike, sleeping on the floor of the carriages until reveille at about 3.30 in the morning, so we could start to climb Ben Nevis at six!  We set out to raise at least four thousand pounds for this most worthwhile charity; by the day of the event we had smashed that target, raising £11,000, and taking the cup for the best fund-raising team in the event.  However, we hope that you'll still sponsor us, so we can do even better - that wer've done the event doesn't reduce the need for support for the Charity's excellent work.  Our thanks, and that of all who benefit from the Railway Children's work, for your generosity

Railway Children fight for vulnerable children who live alone on the streets, where they suffer abuse and exploitation. We provide protection and opportunity for children with nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to.
