This is a one-mile outdoor swim in beautiful Lake Windermere, Cumbria. In 2009 an impressive 6,000 swimmers took part over the two days. We are all putting in the hours at the swimming pool in preparation and have a couple of open water swims lined up in July and August to ease us in.
To keep us motivated and for a bit of fun we would like you to guess the combined number of minutes it will take all 5 of us to complete the swim in. Please post this on your Just Giving message. There is a free X20 hoodie up for grabs if anyone guesses correctly! And if more than one person guesses correctly the winner will be drawn from a hat.
With your help we are raising money for The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK).
More than one person every day, on average, drowns in the UK. Thousands more die from heart attacks or choking. RLSS UK works to reduce many of these avoidable tragedies through a range of water safety, education, lifesaving and lifeguard programmes.
