About the official charities:
Breast Cancer Care
· One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
- Breast Cancer Care’s vital support services remain free thanks to your hard work cycling Women V Cancer Ride the Night, meaning that women can pick up the phone, use our online discussion forums, attend group or one to one sessions and order information packs whenever they need advice or support. There are many ways to face breast cancer – we’re here to help people find theirs.
Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust
- Every year in the UK around 3,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer whilst some 300,000 women are told they have cervical abnormalities that may require treatment. Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting women affected by cervical cancer and cervical abnormalities whilst campaigning for best care and treatment as well as prevention.
- The money raised by Ride the Night has enabled the charity to fund a range of new services and campaigns which have helped us reach and support more women than ever before.
Ovarian Cancer Action
· A woman in the UK dies of ovarian cancer every 2 hours
· And yet scientific research and symptoms awareness of the disease is grossly underfunded when compared to other more well-known cancers
· Ovarian Cancer Action is the UK’s leading ovarian cancer charity dedicated to improving the survival rates of women with the disease
· The funds raised from Women V Cancer are used to fund national symptoms awareness campaigns aimed at women and GP's and to continue our innovative and world-renowned scientific research at the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Center. Women V Cancer plays a vital role in helping us achieve our ultimate goal, that is, in the future no woman will die from ovarian cancer.
