Help me make a difference
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I will try and keep it short :)
As you guys and girls know as I would not shut up about it, during my studies I have developed an insatiable passion for youth work, it is this passion that motivates me to strive to empower young people from socially excluded backgrounds.
I have been speaking about and wanting to do a volunteering project abroad forever and now finally I am putting it into action at last!
I am planning to do three month volunteering project for C.A.R.E. in St Lucia. This community-based indigenous voluntary organization established to help disadvantaged and marginalized youth take advantage of their lives.
This is achieved through a holistic education programme geared to the promotion of self-empowerment which provides the individual with the opportunity to believe in oneself and with the ability to identify the alternatives in any situation and to choose one of these alternatives on the basis of ones values, priorities and commitment. Providing the support for young people to successfully enable them in making the transition into adulthood
As part of my fundrasing events I will be taking part in The British 10K London Run on the 10th of July. So I better start limbering up :-)
Your support and kindness will provide me with the opportunity to undertake such a voluntary placement.
I would not normally ask but this work is so important to me. So I really hope that you can help me make this experience come true.
