I,m Sparky the Barn Owl, the first , the one and only. I was born at the World Owl Trust at Muncaster Castle ,Ravenglass ,Cumbria in April 2001,where I have been working ever since. I am very busy doing personal appearances up and down the country, while my younger understudies take up flying duties at the Centre. I am very placid, and easy going, which helps when you're as busy as I am. I even have my own personal fridge,which keeps my food nice and fresh while I am away. My main aim is to raise awareness for my brothers in the wild, who aren't as lucky as I am. I really like old fashioned haymeadows with lots of wildflowers in them. They are what provide wild Barn owls with their food,namely short tailed voles. But there aren't many meadows left these days, just fields of Rye grass for silage.
