Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and supporting my challenge.
As a member of the Junior Lawyers Division of the Law Society of England and Wales, I will be joining other junior solicitors to take part in an exhibition to Borneo in conjunction with Raleigh International. We've never met each other before though.
The project is a 16 day exhibition to build a gravity feed water system in the poorest village about 3-6 hours from Kota Kinabalu to help those people who unlike us don't have the basics such as clean water. I will be living and working on the edges of the rainforest without all of the usual luxuries which I rely so heavily upon. I hope you will all think of me whilst I sleep in a hammock for 2 weeks and live off basic rations.
Those of you who know me well know that I have an absolute fear of snakes and spiders and as I will be living with both throughout the duration of the expedition, this is an even bigger challenge for me!
This is such a worthy cause and I hope that you will all agree by making a donation in support. After completing the build of the water system I together with the other 12 volunteers will be running workshops with local lawyers about the rule of law and ethics and helping tach in one of the locals schools. This is a community and legal outreach project as well as a personal challenge for me.
